This was the fastest I've ever had to work to meet the tightest of deadlines - no time to think too much no time to revise and no time for mistakes! - three weeks non-stop including weekends - took a well-earned few days in France after as a reward!
Despite the pressure, I really enjoyed this painting with all the extra bits and pieces that went into it, like the book titles, some of which are fictitious or altered and are personal to the sitter. There is a portrait of an ancestor, the sister of Fletcher Christian, and several more symbols and special inclusions. My favourites are the roman numerals on the set of books marking out Andrew's date of birth, the '60' year old Malt Whisky.
