“A face that is all at once bathed in light and yet partially hidden in darkness, can be a most beautiful thing, full of mystery and drama. It may also be intriguing or beguiling – but most of all – it will be interesting!
I aim to capture those qualities when I paint a portrait and in so doing create not just a likeness, but a painting that the observer will be interested in seeing.”
